Kaonashi - Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year (Equal Vision Records) Very cool, progressive, weird post-hardcore concept album from Kaonashi this week about a troubled high school student from an abusive home. References a ton of bands from Lorna Shore to Coheed & Cambria. (Even has a Coheed inspired run of final tracks.) If you’re a fan of the genre you’ll get something out of this for sure. Olivia Rodrigo - SOUR (Geffen Records) Not even sure I have to report anything here. This record has been all over my timeline and a single from it is even the current billboard 100 number 1. Pop record that shows depth and character detailing the decline of a relationship. One Morning Left - Hyperactive This is one I’ve been looking forward to for awhile. The singles have all been some of the biggest for me so far this year. If you like the party side of crabcore or you like Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas but wish they had a bit more of a variety then I urge you to check this recor

So it's been a little while since I've been able to write a Monday post, life has just gotten in the way. However I have been breezing through my listen lists lately and for good reason! While not as much content is being dropped compared to early in the year there's a lot more quality. My most anticipated album of the year is here and it's a banger! Plus some very noteworthy singles this week. Galleons - Galleons (Famined Records) If you follow these you know I’ve been highly anticipating this release as my potential album of the year and at this moment I fully believe it very well may be there. If you were a fan of the post-hardcore genre in the mid 2010s and enjoyed those bands somewhere between that and emo (Emarosa, The Color Morale, etc) you will love this. It’s a sound that I think was overplayed for a time but in its absence has left us all a bit hungry for it. SeeYouSpaceCowboy.../If I Die First - A Sure Disaster (Pure Noise Records) Speaking of hunger for a ce

As opposed to last week, which was  more single heavy with very little albums this week was very album heavy. With a lot of good too! The album I expected to be my second favorite of the year is finally here (stay tuned for next week) and some other great stuff too! Let's get right into it. Ashe - Ashlyn (Mom+Pop) Listened to this on recommendation. Finneas produced, (or at least partially, and he has a feature) just fun pop songs. Have a bit of an issue with the way the record is paced in some ways but other than that it is good. chloe moriondo - Blood Bunny (Fueled by Ramen) This was for sure way up there on my most anticipated list of the year and now that it’s here I am not at all disappointed. Well structured pop rock with incredible vocal range and infectious melodies. Lyrics can be a bit childish at times but the little things are so easy to overlook here. Will try to get a full review out to better go over my thoughts. Ghost Iris - Comatose (Long Branch Records) Ghost Iris

So this was a pretty big release week for two very specific genres but I’ll be brutally honest I was not feeling either of them. A lot of my interests were in singles and they didn’t disappoint! My album of the year artist returns this week, Spiritbox drops the first teaser to their new album, Attack Attack! is listenable again… you know what… see you below! Origami Angel - Gami Gang (Counter Intuitive Records) In a week where, like I said, I was anticipating a lot of singles and not really excited about the big albums I was kinda going through the motions of listening to a lot of releases. When I got to this I couldn’t believe how much fun I was having and how fast an hour passed. This is like the memes about what midwestern is come to life but make the songs unironically good. Have a feeling I’ll have this on rotation. Action/Adventure - Pulling Focus (Pure Noise Records) Pretty… standard pop punk but hey it’s really fun! Give it a shot! Attack Attack! - Brachuya Bombshell (Oxide R
