Best of Month: AotY #24: Soul Glo's "Diaspora Problems" via Epitaph
Last year, I heard Soul Glo's Songs to Yeet at the Sun through an Anthony Fantano video. This along with some other discoveries through his channel made me realize something; scene publications were failing me.
This band has it all for fans of punk and hardcore. This record is off the wall and offers a huge array of genres and experimentation. It's everything you could want whether you enjoy the old, new or MySpace era of scene music. They even opened for My Chemical Romance on that huge tour with the rotating support this year! So why do they feel like the scene's best kept secret? Why do they feel so outside of everything they're working on? While I have a few ideas, I'm at least happy that I found them some other way.
